Is there any updates with regards to the mobile app?
Hanzi Hero on the desktop works fantastic, but it’s rather frustrating to use on the iphone. In particular navigating between the keyboard (to type words) and buttons (go to next word) simply doesn’t work smoothly.

Are you asking for iOS or Android, out of curiosity?
Some exploratory work was done, and I think it’s feasible 
For me (also on iPhone) you don’t need to do that at all - you just hit the blue “Go” button in the bottom right twice (what is normally “enter” or “return”). First time you tap it, it submits your answer, you see if you were right/wrong, then you hit it again to see the next work. Keyboard never goes away, you never need to touch the “next work” arrow in the top half of the screen at all. Type > tap “go” > see result > tap “go” > repeat:
The only improvement could be having floating buttons that anchored above the keyboard to add tone numbers so you didn’t have to keep swapping keyboards. Otherwise it’s great and an App couldn’t really make answering any better.

There’s some strange code that makes this possible on iOS, took awhile to find it 
Though I think the merits of native would be found in reliability (offline-mode) and lessons, perhaps.
What version of iOS is that? iOS 18?
I “installed” it from my chrome browser on my Samsung phone and the “progressive web app” features work really well. This even works well on a Chromebook I have because the keyboard shortcuts make reviews much faster. no complaints except for maybe the offline feature for a days worth of reviews and new items could be nice for if i’m on an airplane or lose service.
