I complete my Chinese cards review on anki using on audio while I’m walking and by swiping cards.
Would there be possible to implement such a way in HH ? For example I’ll check the character on my phone then I’ll say it out loud and mark the tone “zhao1”, click reveal and if correct I’ll swipe that card to the right.
Same can be done for a meaning even though vocal dictation would also work to fill in the definition.
Let me know if that’s in feasible or if you need further explanation
Hi! I can see the appeal of having a typeless experience. Unfortunately it’s hard to incorporate into HanziHero; part of the core philosophy is being forced to type, even though it’s inconvenient for those on the go. Nevertheless I acknowledge the downside, that it’s harder to get in reviews while away from a keyboard
What do you mean by “mark”? Do you have a special Anki deck that has multiple choice, or you just select “zhao1” as your answer in your head and see if you got it right?
When I say “mark”, what I usually do while walking :
The anki card plays a sound (usually a sentence, english or chinese and I have to respond the equivalent in the other language)
I answer by saying the chinese sentence and marking the tone orally + with a little gesture of hand to force me to really aknowledge and be precise with the tones.
I grade my card (failed / passed) according to the output
I must look crazy, but I’m in my happy place with my music, walking for hours
