Just wondering about the development of the platform, the website, and all runs smoothly, and I enjoy using the platform. But I barely see much activity in new features these days. The roadmap lists items of 2023, and the last announcement was dark mode in April, last curriculum update was in April too. Can you shed any light on how actively development is being done, is t a full-time project, part-time, hobby etc – if not too sensitive to share. Just curious to know what phasing to expect here.
I’m not one of the dev’s and can’t speak for them directly. However as someone who’s hung out here a lot, they were responding to people just two weeks ago. They’ve also never previously mentioned ending support and even the comment in the thread I just linked certainly sounds like they intend to change that icon in future. I certainly had no expectation they’d abandon HH in any way.
I’m guessing something has simply come up recently - from what I understand HH is their side gig, not a full time job, so sometimes other things take priority. I have no reason to doubt they’ll be back though when time allows.
Hey! Fair question it’s been awhile since we’ve done another announcement or curriculum update.
But yes, we’re still actively working on it! The work lately has been not as user-facing/feature focused. Bugs and onboarding and other things
But yeah, there’s a lot in the backlog that we want to tackle and things we want to fix up in the curriculum.
Also there are a lot of great suggestions in this forum we want to get to.
I’m thinking of adding a “vote” function to the HanziHero > Feedback category to get a better feel of what you guys would like to see next feature-wise.
As for the “roadmap” tag, that was something we tried out in 2023 but instead just defaulted to doing announcements. Probably should remove it
