Is there any official counter to see how many HSK characters and words (per each level of the old and new hsk) Hanzi Hero covers? Is there any live tracker?
The dashbord shows the word coverage:
HSK1-6 - 300 chars per level
HSK7-9 - 1200 characters
HSK7-9+ - 226
If I understand correctly this is the new HSK and HH covers all of the HSK1-9 level characters.
How about the word coverage?
We don’t expose any metrics for the old HSK. We don’t have any immediate plans to add those since the old HSK is slowly being phased out.
We cover all new HSK characters. For word coverage, we don’t expose that information in a convenient manner currently, so I did some queries:
We add more over time, however with the dictionary beta feature (which uses CEDICT) it is possible to learn any words we don’t cover through HanziHero, if desired. However those aren’t curated like the official HanziHero Words™️ with well-researched sentences, mnemonic, and definitions. But it seems to fill that gap for most of the users fairly well that have been testing it while it is in beta (which anyone can opt into if they so desire).
