When learning new words, I first try to guess what the combination of characters mean before looking at the provided meaning. More often than not, I can guess the meaning which helps reinforce the translation. This is sometimes difficult because the word meaning is printed right below the characters and pinyin so sometimes I’m unable to help seeing it before I can guess. It would be great if there were an option to make the landing page for new words in the lesson mode blurred out or not written in large font beneath the characters.

Interesting idea! Maybe we could blur the meaning until it is clicked on (or hovered) or until one navigates forward a tab in the lesson flow.
