Hi, I have just started using this application to learn chinese characters. My daily lesson limit is set to 5. However, sometimes I run out of time after completing my reviews and only have time to complete (say) 3 lessons out of 5. However, when I click on the home button to return to the dashboard, my progress is not saved i.e. the system still shows that i have 5 daily lessons remaining instead of the expected 2. What should i do?

From how the app works, a lesson only counts as “done” after you complete the short quiz that follows the five new items. That quiz is what “confirms” the set and adds those items to your review queue. If you head back to the dashboard after doing only 2-3 items (before the quiz), the counter will still show 5 remaining because the set hasn’t been confirmed yet.
A practical approach that might fit a tighter schedule is to do a brisk first pass through all 5 in one go (about 1-3 minutes per item), then circle back later for deeper study. During that first pass, you could:
- write the character/word + meaning
- write the pinyin
- note one example word or sentence (if available)
That way you lock in the set, and you can invest more time reviewing those same items later without losing daily progress.
