In Taiwan they call a 垃圾桶 a lasitong. I only bring it up because I was asking for a bin once and they had no idea what I was talking about.
Yeah in Taiwan 垃圾 is pronounced le4se4. We have the word taught with this pronunciation in the traditional course (and likewise the traditional characters have the different pronunciation). I think what we can do, and we have somewhere in our backlog, is add a link from the traditional to the simplified version of an item or vice-versa to allow people to explore these differences if desired.
Actually, you reminded me. I was going to suggest some sort of 3rd course for people transitioning between simplified and traditional or vice versa. I don’t know how it would work though
An option to study only characters that are valid in traditional but invalid in simplified, or vice-versa, would be a simple way to do this. Or vocab words that appear in only one of the two courses.
I study simplified on my own. Picking up traditional characters is my main use case for HanziHero so +1 to the feature request!
