British Spelling

Hi!
Is it maybe possible to include British spellings of the words as alternate meanings? Usually, the difference is minor, so “civilisation” is accepted as being “civilization” with a typo. Still, it is a bit of an annoyance that my correct spelling is called a mistake every time.
It’s not that big of an issue, so I understand if this is not at the very top your priority list.

Welcome, and thanks for the report!

We try our best to add them, but some slip through the cracks. I’ll fix this one (文明) in the update I’ll be issuing today.

If you come across any others, please let us know!

As always, you can always also add it as a user synonym to ensure the British spelling is accepted without any typo notification. But if you report them to us we can add it into the database so it is fixed for all users who use British English.

Great, I’ll let you know of all words I find. How do you want me to notify you of the words?

You can post on this thread, make a new thread, message us via the chat widget, or email us (hello@hanzihero.com, though we check this a bit less frequently then the forum or chat). Whichever you prefer. :+1:

haha as an Australian I’ve written this exact post before, but instead of posting I deleted it because I was like “it’s never actually marked me wrong, maybe I’m just petty”.

色 always telling me that “colour” is a typo is the one I noticed most!
