Do you have any skipped characters in the HSK1 list? It might be 300/300 but you’ve skipped some stuff so we’re adding this * ?

Yes, that should be the reason why there’s an asterisk. If you skipped any characters in HSK-1 the asterisk shows up 
(you can hover over it to confirm)
Whether we should show the asterisk for items that you reviewed for a bit and then skipped, is something to discuss
