# Canto to Mando Issues

Anyone here trying to learn Mandarin who speaks or is able to somewhat read Cantonese?

I’m definitely not a native Cantonese speaker, but after 3 years of learning Mandarin in college, I was pretty comfortable speaking and writing. So, I decided to start learning Cantonese. Then I was only practicing and learning Cantonese for like a year. So, sometimes, now that I’m back learning and practicing Mandarin, some Cantonese will come through because I’m more familiar with it in Canto lmao.

Like just now I did a review for 蚊 and wrote man2 super confidently… 🙂 . Other words I read out in Cantonese (because I literally don’t know them in Mandarin) include 欣赏，镊子 and until a week ago 野
