In this video, I go over some of the mistakes I made when trying to learn how to speak Chinese. Many of them apply not just to speaking alone, but to Chinese as a whole.

1. Not starting with phonetics
2. Thinking tones are “extra”
3. Focusing on speaking too early
4. Reading too much (relative to total listening time)
